Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia is proud to announce the graduation of the HCSO’s 38th Citizen’s Police Academy.

The Citizen’s Police Academy (CPA) is a thirteen-week program designed to give the participants a working knowledge of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. This program consists of a series of interactive classes demonstrating police procedures and protocol.

A graduation ceremony will be held on Thursday, at the Second Baptist Church of Katy.

Sheriff Garcia understands the vital role the CPA plays in reducing crime by providing better communication, information and awareness with area citizens. CPA graduates become partners to the HCSO by identifying problems and solutions to the crime issues affecting their various neighborhoods.

Through this thirteen-week course, CPA participants learn many aspects of law enforcement such as Texas Penal Code, Gang Awareness, Narcotics, Homicide / Cold Case Division and many other topics.
