Recently there have been cases in other states involving a man who is going by the name Alan Michael Farha. A man identifying himself as Alan Michael Farha is now claiming to be in the Green Bay area. Farha has called a local church looking for personal information about the church and the church leaders. Farha uses information from the Internet to find contacts and uses that to fish for more information as well as names of other people.

There are news stories about him conning people out of money in other areas, The below example describes his methodology of conning kindhearted people out of money.

We have not had contact with this individual, and therefore we cannot confirm the person is actually Farha, a local church leader who spoke with this mane said that he appears to be using tactics like those Farha employs to prey on other people’s generosity. He claims he is looking for shelter information and help from the churches he contacts. He is currently using a (920) area code number starting in 664.

We are providing this information as a public service to warn church and other community welfare groups of the possibility of this scam artist attempting to operate in our area.
