“HIT AND RUN TRAFFIC COLLISION LEAVES PEDESTRIAN IN CRITICAL CONDITION”

Los Angeles- On November 17, 2014, at approximately 10:30 p.m., a severe injury vehicle vs. pedestrian hit and run traffic collision occurred on Central Avenue just south of 23rd Street in Newton Area.  The collision occurred when Carlos Cuellar, 54 years old and a resident of Los Angeles, was crossing westbound on Central Avenue and was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound in the number 2 lane of Central Avenue.  The driver sped from the scene and failed to identify himself or render aid to Mr. Cuellar.   

 

According to witnesses the suspect was driving an older model Honda Accord, black in color with 4 doors.  There was no description of the driver.  Cuellar was transported to LAC+USC Medical Center by paramedics from LAFD.  He suffered severe head and body trauma and is listed in extreme critical condition.
