On the early evening of November 17, 2014 at approximately 5:30 pm Officers of the Burlington Police Department responded with the Burlington Fire Department to the intersection of Shelburne Road and Home Avenue for a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle.
It was determined that the 19 year old male victim suffered minor injuries after being struck by a motor vehicle turning from Home Avenue onto Shelburne Road. The vehicle then fled the scene. The victim was transported to the UVM Medical Center ER, where he was treated and released.
The victim was found to be in the crosswalk legally at the time of the collision. Several witnesses provided information regarding the vehicle and operator, but the investigation into the identity of the suspect operator is ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Burlington Police Department.
