Please join us on Wednesday at 3:45 pm in the Kevin P Scully Community Room where we will be joined by 10 year old Gianna R. of Burlington to announce the first ever Junior Community Academy to be held in January. Gianna is the architect of the idea and the framework for the academy, after approaching the Chief in September at a community barbecue. Her grandmother participated in the first adult Community Academy last February.
Gianna will be on hand to discuss the genesis of the idea and announce the details of how youth, 8 to 15, can participate in the four week (one afternoon per week) class beginning January 7th.
Information on how to apply for the Junior Academy will be on our website on Wednesday, just before the press conference. Information on the adult version of Community Academy also scheduled to begin in January is already on our website at www.bpdvt.org.
Mayor Weinberger may attend if his schedule permits.
