On 11/15/14 at 1843 hours, WCPD received a report of a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision on Walnut Av at Hutchinson Rd. The witness advised the involved vehicle, (updated vehicle description below), continued driving west on Walnut Av. There is no additional information regarding the vehicle or driver. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital after sustaining life threatening injuries. The intersection was closed for several hours while officers conducted the investigation.
Update: Further investigation has revealed the vehicle involved in this accident is a dark colored sedan, not a SUV as previously believed. It has also been determined through witness statements that the pedestrian ran into the roadway just prior to being struck by the on-coming vehicle.
