White County-Today at approximately 11:12 a.m. on I-65 northbound at the US 231 overpass (mm 193) a semi runs off the right shoulder and rolls onto its side injuring the driver.
Preliminary investigation by Trooper Mike Krueger has revealed that the driver Nonato V. Ribamar Jr. 44 of Boca Raton, FL was driving his blue 2007 Volvo owned by Ethnos Logistics Inc. out of Boca Raton and pulling a 2002 Utility Trailer loaded with rolls of paper. For an unknown reason, the semi went off the overpass on the right, rolled on its side and came to rest down the embankment. Ribamar had cuts to his head and complaint of pain. He was transported to St Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette by Wolcott ambulance. The truck received heavy damage and the trailer was a total loss. The rolls of paper were strewed across the grassy embankment. No citations were issued. The interstate was never blocked but the ramp to northbound I-65 from US 231 was slowed for cleanup and investigation of the crash.
