LOCK YOUR VEHICLES WHEN THEY ARE NOT IN USE
There have been a recent increase in the number of thefts from unlocked vehicles in the City of St. Louis.
PLEASE! Keep your vehicles locked when not in use. Remove any valuables from your vehicles when they are not in use. Do not keep valuables in open areas of your vehicles (purses, change, GPS units, I-pods, etc...)
Almost all of the vehicles that have been stolen from, have been unlocked and valuables were left in the open. Do not make yourself a potential victim.
Do you have the serial numbers/model numbers of your valuables written down or kept in a safe place? If not, please do so. Have you taken a photo of your valuable items? If not you should.
DO NOT keep your social security cards in your wallets or purses. If your purse/wallet is stolen and your license and social security card is in them, you have made yourself a prime target for identity theft.
Photograph the front and back of all credit/debit cards. This will allow you to have your card number and the 800 number handy to call if your ever cards are ever stolen or lost.
