(Etowah County, Alabama) A Gadsden man has been arrested in connection to an assault on two individuals, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

“Michael Scott Brown, 35, of Gadsden, was arrested on November 10, and is charged with one count of first degree assault and one count of second degree assault, both are felonies,” Chief Investigator Mike Jones said.

Sheriff’s deputies and Hokes Bluff police officers responded, Monday evening, to a possible fight at a residence located on Croft Ferry Road. They found a significant amount of blood outside the residence and slit tires on a nearby truck.

Brown was taken into custody after officers discovered he was wanted for a warrant in Rainbow City. He then admitted to officers that he was involved in a fight at the residence and had cut an individual with a utility knife.

Two victims were found down the road from the incident scene. A male suspect was flown by helicopter to a Birmingham hospital with multiple stab wounds. The female suspect was taken to a local hospital by ambulance. Both victims stated they were trying to leave the residence when Brown began arguing and cutting the male victim. The female attempted to break up the fight when she was cut.

Brown is currently being detained in the Etowah County Detention Center on $9,500 bond.
