Distribution Arrest

(Etowah County, Alabama) A Gadsden woman was arrested today for the distribution of a controlled narcotic, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

“Katie Lynn Stovall, 27, of Gadsden, was arrested this morning, and is charged with two counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, which is a felony,” Sheriff Entrekin said.

Stovall allegedly sold a controlled narcotic, on two occasions, to individuals working undercover for the Etowah County Drug Enforcement Unit.

An investigation into possible wrongdoing at the Etowah County Animal Control Shelter led to Stovall’s arrest. She was employed at the facility, located on Highway 278, when the arrest took place.

“The possibility of illegal behavior was brought to our attention by Etowah County Chief Administrative Officer Patrick Simms. He asked for an investigation in the matter,” Sheriff Entrekin said. The investigation was conducted by the Etowah County Drug Enforcement Unit and Etowah County Sheriff’s Office.

Stovall is currently being detained in the Etowah County Detention Center on $50,000 cash bond.
