State Police Arrest Suspects from Bremen Home Break In

Marshall County – The Indiana State Police along with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department and the Plymouth Police Department captured two individuals that were being sought from a home break in that occurred Thursday morning.

The break in happened at a vacant home located at 402 N. Kenilworth Rd. in Bremen. The caretaker to the residence stopped in to clean and check in on the home when she discovered a man and woman sleeping in an upstairs bedroom. The woman caretaker went back to her car and contacted police on her phone when the two subjects exited the house and got into their SUV in an attempt to leave. Reportedly, the woman had blocked the suspect’s vehicle with her own car in an effort to keep them from leaving before police arrived. The woman told police on the phone that the man pulled a gun and pointed it at her while she was in her vehicle before he sped off through an adjacent field.

The state police arrived at the scene and discovered personal items that the two subjects had left behind. Several officers from area law enforcement spent the next hour attempting to locate the suspect vehicle which was described as a black SUV with a Confederate flag front license plate.

A detective with the state police spotted the SUV near the Dollar Tree store on US 30 in Plymouth. Officers with the state police, Marshall County Sheriff’s Department and the Plymouth Police Department attempted to stop the driver of the SUV but he fled leading police on a 10 minute chase. The pursuit eventually ended with his capture in a field off Lincoln Highway and the US 31 overpass in Plymouth.

Arrested was Richard Gee, 29, of Michigan City and Shannon Dixon, 25, of Argos. Both subjects were taken to the Marshall County Jail and face several felony charges. The Indiana State Police Meth Suppression Team was also called to the scene to dispose of meth precursors that were located in the SUV. A records check of the SUV showed that it had recently been reported stolen out of Marshall County.
*All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
