JPD will be performing Sobriety Checkpoints and increased traffic enforcement throughout the city Thursday & Friday

Press Release

Date: 12 November 2014
From: Lt. Ron Adams, Traffic Safety Coordinator
RE: Alcohol Countermeasures Team

As part of ongoing efforts to ensure the safety of the citizens of
Jackson, the Jackson Police Department will be performing Sobriety
Checkpoints and increased traffic enforcement throughout the city this
Thursday and Friday.

There will be a Sobriety Checkpoint on Thursday, 13 November 2014,
from 2330 until 0115 on North Parkway east of North Royal, and one
Friday, 14 November 2014 from 0145 until 0330 on South Highland at
Hwy 18.

During these Sobriety Checkpoints and increased traffic enforcement,
officers will concentrate their efforts on removing impaired drivers
from the roadways. However, as non-compliance with the safety belt
and child restraint laws place people in danger these laws will be
vigorously enforced as well.

This project funded solely by the Tennessee Governor's Highway
Safety Office.
