LAST CHANCE to tour an energy efficient home on Saturday from 10 am to 1 pm!

The final public tour of the upgraded, energy efficient home located at 608 Belinda Way will be on Saturday, November 15th from 10am to 1pm. Find out how your home can have consistent temperatures throughout every room with better air quality. Avoid having to bundle up inside during the cooler winter months. These same measures will keep your home comfortable during heat waves.

The nonprofit Center for Sustainable Energy is hosting free guided tours of the recently upgraded 1951-constructed home that is now energy efficient. Visitors can meet the homeowner and learn about the Energy Upgrade California™ Home Upgrade program that involves a “whole house” approach to energy efficiency to diagnose and fix health and safety issues and deficiencies in building leakage, insulation, heating and air conditioning systems, water heaters, appliances and lighting that waste energy. The Home Upgrade initiative offers rebates from $1,250 to $6,500 to help pay for the upgrades.

Upgrades installed at this house include whole house air sealing, attic, wall and subfloor insulation, a ductless system for heating and cooling, dual-pane windows and doors, ENERGY STAR appliances, and high efficiency clothes washer and dryer.
