Investigators need help solving two suspicious fires; cash reward available
McDowell County Sheriff’s Office detectives need the public’s help identifying the suspects responsible for two suspicious fires that destroyed buildings on the same property.
Jane Eckard, of Black Mountain, reported on July 14 that a house she owns at 658 Jacktown Road in Marion burned.
The home, which was unoccupied at the time, was a total loss.
Eckard reported on Nov. 8 that fire destroyed an outbuilding she owned at 792 Jacktown Road.
That property was also unoccupied at the time.
Anyone with information concerning the fires is asked to call Detectives Billie Brown or Jason Grindstaff of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office at 652-2237 or McDowell County Crimestoppers at 65-CRIME (652-7463). With Crimestoppers, your identity remains anonymous, and you could receive a cash reward.
