Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports that his deputies handled a personal injury crash on November 9th, 2014 at 1:53 pm on O'Keefe Road north of Fox Street in LaGrange Township Cass County MI.

A car driven by Todd Duricic, 21 years old from Cassopolis, was attempting to do a U turn on O'Keefe Road when he was struck by another vehicle who was behind him. The second car, driven by Richard Drake, 58 years old from Dowagiac, was driving behind Mr. Duricic when Mr. Duricic pulled off the side of the road to begin a U turn. Duricic started the U turn, turning into the path of Mr. Drake who had continued north bound and was unable to avoid the collision. Mr. Duricic was air lifted by Med Flight to South Bend Memorial for treatment of his injuries. A passenger in Mr. Duricic's vehicle Aaron Clauss, 20 from White Pigeon, was transported to Borgess Lee Memorial for treatment of his injuries. Mr. Drake was transported to Borgess Lee Memorial as well for treatment of his injuries.

Seat belts were worn at the time of the crash and alcohol was not a factor.

Cassopolis Police Department, Med Flight, Life Care Ambulance, Pride Care Ambulance. Cass Fire Department and Penn Fire Department assisted deputies at the scene which remains under investigation.
