Jasper County-Two people from Logansport were arrested this afternoon, for heroin, after being stopped for a traffic violation.
At approximately 3:00 p.m., Master Trooper Glen Fifield stopped a 2013 Ford Fusion, driven by Jeremy Graham, 25 of Logansport, this Saturday, November 08, 2014, afternoon, for a traffic violation on I-65 south bound at the 230 mile marker (this is the Roselawn/Demotte exit).
Shortly after the stop, Lake County Deputy Mike Stuart arrived to back up Fifield. After Fifield talked with Graham (who had no identification on him at the time of the traffic stop) and Stuart talked to the passenger, later identified as Mariah D. Mughmaw, 21 of Logansport, a Lake County Police canine officer was called to the scene.
Soon after, Mughmaw produced 17 grams of heroin hidden on her person to Deputy Stuart.
Graham and Mughmaw were both taken to Jasper County Jail in Rensselaer and charged with Dealing Heroin, Level 2 Felony. Their vehicle was also towed.
