Saugus, Zone 4 Update, Public Safety & Crime Prevention Information Snapshot: 10/27/2014 - 11/02/2014
Good afternoon Saugus. The following Part 1 crimes were reported in Saugus over the past week:
There were two residential burglaries over the past week in Saugus. The first was in the 28100 block of Seco Canyon Road between October 27th and October 29th. The victim had a bicycle and other property stolen from his garage. The second residential burglary occurred in the 22600 block of Copper Hill Drive on October 31st. The victim had two bicycles stolen from her unlocked, open garage, during the middle of the day. Detectives are looking into both incidents.
Two thefts from unlocked vehicles were reported on October 2nd in the same neighborhood. The first was reported in the 20900 block of Susan Carole Drive. The victim discovered over $4000 worth of equipment was stolen out of his vehicle overnight. The second theft from unlocked vehicle was reported in the 20800 block of Marshall Way. The victim discovered miscellaneous items had been stolen from his unlocked vehicle overnight. Detectives are investigating both related incidents.
A theft from an unlocked vehicle was reported in the 28400 block of Jerry Place on October 28th. The victim discovered miscellaneous tools were taken from his unlocked vehicle overnight.
Crime Prevention Tip: Please remember to lock your vehicles and take all items of value with you when leaving it unattended. Also, please remember that when out in a public setting it is dangerous to leave your valuables sitting on a table or unattended for any period of time. The majority of these are crimes of opportunity. The best way to prevent from becoming a victim of this type of crime is to never give the criminal an opportunity in the first place
