UPDATED INFORMATION:

The subject found deceased inside his home has been identified as 66 year old Nickolas Rudolph Camara. Because this is an ongoing investigation no additional information will be provided at this time.

On July 25, 2014 at about 8:30 am, San Luis Obispo Police Officers responded to a residence in the Silver City Mobile Home Park at 3860 South Higuera for a welfare check. Neighbors reported they had last seen the resident at the mobile home in question two days ago and he was not answering his door.

When officers arrived they looked inside and saw a male subject lying on the floor inside the living room. These officers then forced entry into the home and found the subject was deceased. During their initial entry into the home officers found some things which they believed to be suspicious in nature. For this reason they obtained a search warrant before continuing with their investigation.

The identity of the decedent is not being released until his family has been notified. The cause of death at this time is unknown and an autopsy is being scheduled for some time next week. This case is still an active investigation and will be listed as a suspicious death pending the results of the autopsy, toxicology results, and investigative findings.

Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to call the San Luis Obispo Police Department or Crime Stoppers.
