Veterans Parades in Chula Vista Friday and Saturday: Temporary Road Closures

The ninth annual Veterans Elementary parade to honor our heroes past, present and future will be held Friday, November 7. Temporary road closures will be in effect along Magdalena Avenue between E. Palomar and Santa Venetia Streets from 8:45 to 9:30 a.m. Please use alternate routes during this time period. Following the parade, there will be a ceremony at Veterans Elementary School, 1550 Magdalena Avenue featuring keynote speaker Commander Tracy Hines, United States Navy. The event is sponsored by Veterans Elementary and endorsed by the City of Chula Vista.

On Saturday, November 8, the fifth annual parade band review, “A Salute to Veterans,” will be held at the Otay Ranch Town Center. The parade will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Eastlake Parkway between Birch and Kestrel Falls Roads. Temporary road closures will be in effect from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. on Birch Road between the SR-125 off-ramp and EastLake Parkway and also on EastLake Parkway between Birch and Kestrel Falls Roads. Please use alternate routes during this time period. Following the parade will be a community festival from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Macy’s South parking lot. The event is sponsored by the Parade Band Review Foundation, Chula Vista Chamber of Commerce, and supported by the City of Chula Vista Cultural Arts Commission.
