Burglary/Theft Arrest

(Etowah County, Alabama) A Boaz man has been arrested in connection to a burglary this month, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

“Rickey Ray Amos, 32, of Boaz, was arrested on November 4, and is charged with one count of third degree burglary and one count of second degree theft of property, both are felonies,” investigator Seth Williamson said.

Amos allegedly broke into a residence on November 3, located on Warrior Valley Road. He stole several items that totaled more than $1,350. The property taken from the residence included a Husqvarna backpack leaf blower, Dewalt sawzall, ACDelco car jack, two Stihl chainsaws, two Hilti nail guns and other miscellaneous tools.

When deputies Dwight Fuller and Chad Langdale arrived at the home they found a flash light engraved with the name ‘Rickey Amos’ and a wallet containing Amos’ driver’s license. The deputies also discovered a vehicle registered to Amos, with all of the stolen items inside, on Warrior Valley Road just a short distance from the residence.

Investigators Seth Williamson and Tyler St. Clair located Amos inside a Marshall County residence, in possession of two handguns which violated the condition of his probation. Amos was taken into custody by a Marshall County probation officer and charged with an ex-felon in possession of a firearm.

Amos is currently being detained in the Marshall County Jail and will be transferred to Etowah County at a later time.
