On November 03. 2014, at approximately 8:35 PM, the Sheboygan Police Department was contacted by residents of 2211 South 10th Street reference safety concerns they had for a family member. Family members were concerned due to statements being made by the 21 year old male who also had access to a handgun in the residence. Police arrived and the callers were escorted from the home, a perimeter was established, and contact was attempted with the lone male occupant. Prolonged contact was unsuccessful and the Sheboygan Police Department requested technical assistance from the Milwaukee Police Department.
UPDATE:
Contact continued to be unsuccessful throughout the night and the Sheboygan Police Department Emergency Response Team responded to the address. Officers were eventually successful in apprehending the male without incident. The area is now accessible to the public.
The assistance of local media and the Sheboygan Area School District with notifications to the public and school staff was appreciated and allowed police to resolve the situation without potential unintended interference.
