Lewisville Police Department launches tip411, an anonymous way to submit tips.

The Lewisville Police Department now allows the public to share important public safety information anonymously with police by sending them a secure text message about crimes or suspicious activity in Lewisville, Texas.

The Lewisville Police Department is launching tip411, an internet based tool from CitizenObserver that enables the public to text message or email an anonymous tip to police and lets the officers respond back creating an anonymous two-way conversation.

Anyone with a cell phone may send an anonymous tip to Lewisville Police Department by texting TipLPD and their message/tip to 847411. Citizens with Android or Apple phones can also download the free TipLPD application. In addition, anonymous web tips can be submitted right from the Police Department’s website at http://www.cityoflewisville.com/index.aspx?page=173.

The tip411 system is 100% anonymous, as CitizenObserver’s technology removes all identifying information before police see it and there is no way to identify the sender.

“This system has been successful in communities across the U.S.,” said Terry Halsch, President of CitizenObserver. “Departments have been helped tremendously by members of the public who have sent anonymous text messages to police with important information that often leads to arrests.”

Those with questions are asked to call Lewisville Police Department at 972-219-3615 or visit www.CitizenObserver.com.
