Time:  12:40 P.M.

Location:  4200 block of West 164th Street, Lawndale

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD) Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB), Special Weapons Team, responded to the 4200 block of West 164th Street, Lawndale, to assist South Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station regarding a “person with a gun” call.

For the safety of all the residents, the neighborhood was immediately evacuated.

After having assumed command of the tactical response, which was confronted by the active shooter, SEB worked to bring the situation to a peaceful resolution.

At this time, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives have additionally been notified and are responding to the scene.
