SMPD: Shots Fired Into a Residence - Investigation Ongoing - No Injuries - No Current Danger to the Public

MEDIA RELEASE / COMMUNITY ALERT
FROM THE CITY of SAN MATEO POLICE DEPARTMENT

On Wednesday morning October 29th, at just before 1030 am, numerous SMPD officers and detectives responded to multiple calls of shots fired into a residence in the area of Norfolk St. And Newbridge Ave. Responding officers quickly checked the involved residence and conducted a door-to-door canvass of the neighborhood, determining no apparent injuries to residents. At this point, there does not appear to be an ongoing danger to the public, and this incident appears to be isolated to one targeted residence.

SMPD officers and detectives remain on the scene conducting an ongoing investigation. The suspect in this case was described as an unknown race male with dark hair and a ponytail, armed with a handgun. The suspect appears to have fled the area in a silver vehicle, likely an SUV.

SMPD urges anyone with information on this case to contact SMPD Detectives at 650-522-7650.
