Recently there have been several purse snatching robberies in our neighboring jurisdictions. Last evening, we were alerted by a victim that she had just been targeted in one of these incidents while leaving the Shop Rite on Renaissance Boulevard. The victim was able to provide responding Officers with a detailed description of the suspects vehicle. North Brunswick Police Detectives used that information to locate the suspect last night, arresting John Wells, 52, of Plainsboro, NJ, for the robbery attempt. Wells was arrested without incident at his place of employment after a brief foot pursuit. He has been charged with the robbery among other charges, and is being held on $75,000.00 bail. Additional charges are pending from the other jurisdictions as well.
