On October 27th 2014, at about 4:53 A.M., an Anderson Police Officer was returning to the City of Anderson after booking an unassociated offender into the Shasta County Jail. The officer was stopped on southbound HWY 273 at Westwood Avenue, when he observed a Toyota Yaris leaving the Circle K parking-lot. The officer recognized the vehicle and knew it had been reported stolen to the Anderson Police Department a few days prior.

The vehicle was stopped and 51 year old, Redding resident, Dennis Carl Chandler was found to be driving it. Chandler, who is on probation in Shasta County, was booked into the Shasta County Jail for possession of a stolen vehicle and for driving on a suspended or revoked driver license.
