Learn more about the negative effects of Domestic Violence. Every day, three women will lose their lives in this country as a result of do

One in four women and one in seven men in the United States will suffer serious physical violence at the hands of an intimate partner at least once during their lifetime. Every day, three women will lose their lives in this country as a result of domestic violence.  And last year alone deputies from Lancaster Station responded to over 700 calls involving intimate partner abuse.

Our local domestic violence non-profit agencies, Law Enforcement, and our great City of Lancaster have made significant strides in the effort to eliminate social and domestic violence from our community.  But there is much more work to be done, and we need your help.  If you see abuse happening, report it.

We encourage victims, their families, friends, and concerned citizens to learn more by calling the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE, or by visiting local domestic violence agency websites such as Valley Oasis at www.valleyoasis.org.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and the County of Los Angeles have additional resources available to help those in need. Initially, during any emergency/or threat of a violent attack, call 9-1-1.

Additional organizations are available to assist before an assault occurs:

·          Valley Oasis (661) 945-6736

·          Association to Aid Victims of Domestic Violence (805) 259-4357

·          Domestic Violence Hotline (800) 978-3600

·          National Domestic Violence Hotline (800) 799-SAFE

·          Mediation Resources (661) 579-8005

Resources are also available for individuals who have anger management issues. Contact these groups at: www.losangelesangermanagement.com
