OPD Requests Assistance from the Public in Solving a Homicide
Oakland Police Departments Homicide Investigators are requesting assistance from the community regarding a homicide that occurred today, of 30 year old Perla Avina, who was shot and killed.
On October 26, 2014, just after 12:30 PM, victim Avina, who was a passenger in a vehicle traveling south bound in the 400-600 block of 98th Avenue, was shot. Investigators believe this incident may possibly be related to road rage. The victim vehicle is as a 1998 Toyota Camry, black in color. Anyone who may have witnessed this crime is encouraged to contact the Oakland Police Department Homicide section at (510) 238-3821 .
Investigators are requesting help from anyone who may have:
• Witnessed the shooting;
• Witnessed a possible confrontation between the victim and suspect(s); or
• Seen the suspect vehicle fleeing the scene after the shooting.
Oakland Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering a reward of up to $20,000 for information leading to an arrest in this case. Anyone with information is asked to contact the OPD Homicide Division (510) 238-3821.
