Driver Located in Gannon Road Incident

Vigo County—Indiana State Police have been investigating an incident at 988 Gannon Road, West Terre Haute, where the white male driver of a reportedly black, Dodge Ram 4-door pickup with International Harvester decals in the rear window, allegedly stopped in front of the residence, cursed at the kids, then ran over their skateboard ramp. In addition, witnesses reported two kids were on or near the ramp and had to quickly step away to prevent being struck by the truck. The incident occurred on Wednesday, October 22 between 6:30p.m. and 7:00p.m.

The Indiana State Police requested assistance from local media outlets to publicize the incident and solicit tips from the public. As a direct result of media efforts, several tips came into the Putnamville Post. Most importantly, the alleged driver of the Dodge pickup contacted the post and is currently working through the investigation with Trooper Mike Finney.

The investigation is ongoing with many interviews yet to be conducted. At the conclusion of the investigation, the report will be submitted to the Vigo County Prosecutor’s Office for review, which is standard protocol for such cases.

The Indiana State Police is not seeking anyone else in this matter.

Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
