On October 23rd, 2014, Simi Valley Police Department Narcotics Detectives concluded an investigation into complaints of drug dealing occurring inside the Simi Valley Library. The investigation concluded with the arrest of Bradley Bates inside the Library in possession of over six grams of heroin and over $1,500 in cash. Bates was observed dealing heroin to customers inside the library and in the parking lot by SVPD Detectives while posing as a library patron. Bates is currently homeless and is from the Huntington Beach area.
Bates was arrested for Possession of Narcotics for Sale in addition to a narcotics related felony warrant for his arrest. Bates was booked into Ventura County Jail and is being held without bail.
