Tip Leads to Two Drug Arrests in Putnam County
Putnam County—A tip last evening to Indiana State Police Trooper Jonathan Cumbie led to an early morning search warrant in Cloverdale and two arrests.
Trooper Cumbie organized all of the tip information and submitted the data to the Putnam County Prosecutor’s Office and Putnam County Superior Court. Trooper Cumbie, along with officers from the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office and Cloverdale Police Department, arrived at the duplex unit at 303 ½ South Main Street in Cloverdale. During execution of the Putnam County Superior Court search warrant for the residence, officers found approximately three grams of Methamphetamine, less than five grams of Marijuana, three firearms, assorted drug paraphernalia, cameras, cell phones, and computers. K-9 “Chewy” of the Cloverdale Police Department was instrumental in locating the illegal drugs. The occupants of the home were arrested and transported to the Putnam County Jail.
Arrested: Gary Means, age 43, 303 ½ South Main Street, Cloverdale, IN.
Charges: Possession of Methamphetamine, Dealing Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana, Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Convicted Felon in Possession of Firearm, and Possession of Firearm with Altered Serial Number.
Arrested: Brandi Depew, age 27, same address
Charges: Same as Gary Means, except for Firearm Violation Charges
Assisting were Putnam County Sheriff’s Deputies Lanning and Biggs, and Cloverdale Officers James, Hallum, Clark, and K-9 “Chewy”.
