State Police Seek Public Help with Criminal Recklessness Case
Vigo County—Indiana State Police is currently soliciting help from the public in locating a person and/or vehicle possibly involved in harassing juveniles and destruction of property.
On Wednesday, October 22, 2014, between the hours of 630pm and 700pm, several kids were playing in front of the residence at 988 Gannon Road, West Terre Haute. The white male driver of a black, possibly Dodge Ram four door pickup, drove passed the juveniles, stopped, and then backed up to where the kids were playing and began cursing at the juveniles. The driver then drove south on Gannon Road and veered off the roadway into the yard. The truck continued on a path directly toward the kids and their skateboard ramp. Two of the kids reportedly had to step out of the way of the truck as the pickup continued south, ultimately driving over the skateboard ramp destroying it. Witnesses reported had the kids not stepped out of the path of the truck, they would have been struck as a result of the driver’s actions.
Witnesses reported the truck as a shiny black Dodge Ram, four door diesel pickup, with two International Harvester decals in the rear windows, and two powder coated exhaust pipes. The owner may live in the area of Gannon Road in West Terre Haute.
Anyone who may know the pickup and/or the owner is urged to call investigating officer Trooper Mike Finney at the Putnamville Post, 765-653-4114.
The attached picture is of the International Harvester decals in rear windows and a picture of the destroyed skate ramp.
Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
