On Thursday October 16, 2014, leaders from the city of Carson's Samoan and Tongan communities came together in a show of unity and solidarity at Carson Sheriff's Station.  The organizer of the event, Carson Station Commander Captain Reginald Gautt, declared the event a success stating "we stand firm in our commitment to communicate, collaborate and work together with our friends and family from the Pacific Island communities in order to create safer and more caring neighborhoods throughout the city of Carson and surrounding areas."

On Wednesday October 22, 2014, a second, much larger "Townhall" type event with additional members of the Samoan and Tongan communities will take place at the city of Carson Community Center at 7:30 p.m.
