TROOPERS ARREST NORTH VERNON MAN FOR BURGLARY
JEFFERSON COUNTY: On October 20, 2014 around 09:00 AM, Indiana State Police Troopers and North Vernon Police arrested MICHAEL VANCE (26) of North Vernon for Burglary. On October 19, 2014 around 3:30 PM, Indiana State Police troopers Randel Miller and Nathan Adams responded to a Burglary complaint in the 11000 block of CR 700 W in Dupont. The troopers processed the scene and determined that jewelry and firearms were taken from the residence. As a result of their investigation, they also developed a suspect.
On October 20, 2014 around 09:00 AM, Trooper Miller and North Vernon Police Sgt. Nick Megel and Officer Todd Fleetwood went to a residence in the 7000 Block of Buckeye Street in North Vernon. They conducted a search on a vehicle on that property and located some items taken from the residence on CR 700 W. The investigation led Trp. Miller to a pawn shop in Louisville, Kentucky where the remaining items taken during the burglary were located.
Vance was arrested and transported to the Jefferson County Jail facing a charge of Burglary of a dwelling, a Level 3 Felony. Vance will be facing a charge of Possession of Stolen Property and Possesssion of a Syringe, both Level 6 Felonies in Jennings County as well.
Trooper Miller was assisted by Trooper Nathan Adams and North Vernon Police Sgt. Nick Megel and Officer Todd Fleetwood during this investigation.
