Narrative:
A female suspect was arrested after being located inside a chimney trying to enter a home on Woodside Drive in Thousand Oaks.
Residents on Woodside Drive called police this morning at about 5:45 am to report the sound of a female crying in the area. Deputies responded and located (S) Genoveva Nunez-Figueroa stuck inside the chimney of a residence. Ventura County Fire Department and American Medical Response personnel were summoned to the scene. The fireplace was carefully dismantled in order to free Nunez-Figueroa. Nunez-Figueroa was eventually rescued from the chimney and transported to Los Robles Regional Medical Center for medical treatment.
The investigation by the Thousand Oaks Police Department determined that Figueroa climbed into the chimney from the roof to illegally enter the home. Figueroa was arrested for 602.5(a)-illegal entry and 148.9 PC-providing false information to peace officer.
