NASA has invited the Bay Area behind the gates for its 75th Anniversary on October 18. Attendees can take a two-mile walking tour through the Center and visit with Ames engineers and scientists in booths set up in front of their facilities. After the walking tour, they can join on the plaza to learn about NASA missions. Food, drinks and NASA gift shop merchandise will be on sale.

> Event Hours 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Entry gates open 8:15 a.m. Lines may be expected.
> Ames will have staggered entry times from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. The public is encouraged to observe their ticket time.

The NASA Ames 75th Anniversary Open House is a unique event, and expected to be many times larger than other recent Ames public events. Ames is working with local law enforcement to address traffic impacts in the area on October 18.

Along with observing the staggered ticket timings, NASA Ames recommends walking, biking and public transportation for the thousands attending.

Beginning at 7:30 a.m., the Moffett Boulevard off-ramps on U.S. Highway 101 will be closed. The South-bound Highway 101 on ramp will remain open. Manila Road will also be closed to vehicles from Enterprise Way to Ellis Street.

On Site Parking is Extremely Limited
> NASA Ames has approximately 10,500 on-site parking spaces (accessible through the Ellis Street gate) for an estimated 120,000 attendees – so parking is not guaranteed.
> If you have questions regarding ADA accommodations, please contact Dana Bolles at [email protected]. Alternative forms of transit are recommended.

NASA will provide shuttle buses every 15 minutes from two public transit locations:
> Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) Light Rail's "BayShore/NASA" station, and
> VTA Light Rail's "Downtown Mountain View" station and CalTrain "Mountain View" station.
