Connersville Woman Arrested on Multiple Felony Charges

Connersville – A Connersville woman was arrested on multiple felony charges after a search warrant was served on her home by members of the Pendleton District Meth Suppression Squad. The search warrant was the result of an ongoing investigation by the Meth Suppression Squad, with the assistance of the Fayette County Prosecutor’s Office, into the manufacture and selling of Methamphetamine.

Arrested was Shirley L. Shelby, age 32, of 215 W. 12th St. in Connersville. Members of the Meth Suppression Team went to the 12th St. home around 8 p.m. last evening along with Connersville Police Department K-9 Officer Chris Scott and his partner “Diesel.”

As a result of the search warrant Shelby was charged with one count of Possession of Methamphetamine, Level 6 Felony; one count of Maintaining a Common Nuisance, a Level 6 Felony and Possession of Paraphernalia, Class “A” Misdemeanor.

In addition Shelby was charged with Three Counts of Neglect of a Dependent, Level 6 Felony, as three children under the age of ten were removed from the home by Fayette County Division of Child Services. The investigation is ongoing, with further charges and arrests possible after review of the case by Fayette County Prosecutor Bette Jones.
