Three Injured in Crash

Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports that on 10/17/2014 at approximately 15:27 his office was called to a personal injury crash at Huntly Rd and Almaugus Dr in Howard Township, Cass County, Michigan. 45 year old Niles resident, Tina Young, and her passenger, 14 year old Zayne Grishaber were traveling east on Almaugus when she failed to yield to an oncoming vehicle driven by 85 year old Niles resident Frederick Albert. The collision caused Mr. Albert's vehicle to go off the roadway crashing in to a parked motor vehicle, and also causing Ms. Young's vehicle to overturn. All parties were wearing seatbelts and alcohol is not a factor in the crash. This case remains under investigation. Assisting at the scene were Howard Township Fire and SMACS Ambulance. All parties were transported to Memorial Hospital for their injuries.
