COMMUNITY: Brief traffic interruptions on the SR-60 freeway due to Southern California Edison (SCE) construction in Montebello

SCE project crews will be using a helicopter to install safety marker balls on electric transmission wires.

Traffic interruptions:
There will be periods of brief traffic interruptions, including lane closures, during this work to ensure the safety of the public and project personnel:

Location:
On the SR-60 Freeway, east and west of Paramount Blvd, in Montebello

Each periodic traffic interruption may be five (5) to fifteen (15) minutes in duration.

A combination of traffic control signs, California Highway Patrol (CHP), and crew members with flags will be used during the entire installation process

Construction Schedule:
(Note: this schedule may change depending on weather and other factors)

Sunday, October 19, from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Construction work without traffic interruptions on the freeway will continue through 3 p.m.

About the project:
SCE is currently upgrading the electrical transmission system in your area as part of SCE’s Tehachapi Renewable Transmission Project (TRTP). The upgrades are designed to add capacity to the power system, enhance reliability for customers, and deliver power from renewable and traditional energy sources to the region. This will help SCE meet California’s renewable energy goals while enhancing electricity reliability in the region.
