Mayor Laforet's update on today's Route 17 Traffic Conference 
A traffic conference was held today at Mahwah Town Hall to discuss issues related to the traffic pattern at the intersection of Route 17, Route 287 and the New York State Thruway. The traffic congestion at the intersection of these major highways also has an impact on secondary County and Municipal roadways. Today representatives of the New Jersey Department of Transportation, engineers, traffic consultants, County and State elected officials and local residents met to discuss and identify the problems and possible resolutions. As Mayor I will continue to express the concerns of our residents with Federal and State officials and Department of Transportation representatives until a resolve is reached.
