Canyon Country West, Zone 7, Public Safety and Crime Prevention Information. Snapshot for 10/06/2014 to 10/12/2014

This past week in Zone 7, the following Part-1 Crimes occurred:

An assault with a deadly weapon occurred near the intersection of Soledad Canyon Road and Crossglade Avenue.  An unknown suspect randomly walked up to the victim and struck him in the face.  After knocking him to the ground, the suspect then kicked him in the head and ran westbound on Soledad Canyon Road and out of view.  The victim was transported to Henry Mayo Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.  This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives. 

A residential burglary occurred near the 27300 block of Sierra Highway.  Person(s) unknown entered the victims house and stole numerous items from within.  No evidence of forced entry was found.  This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives. 

A residential burglary occurred near the 19300 block of May Way.  Person(s) unknown stole approximately $3000 in cash from the victims dresser which was located in the master bedroom of the residence.  No evidence of forced entry was found.  This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives. 

A petty theft occurred near the 19200 block of Soledad Canyon Road.  The victim left her purse in a shopping cart at a nearby market and drove home.  When she returned to locate her purse, it was missing.  Later the victim activated the GPS on her cell phone which was inside her purse and saw that her missing items were inside a nearby apartment complex.  This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives.
