INET busts meth distributors in Quincy
QUINCY, Wash. (16OCT2014) – Three Quincy residents are in custody after being arrested for drug and weapons offenses.
Hortencia P. Vasquez, 40, and Eduardo Virgen Corona, 23, were arrested after INET, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agents and Quincy Police served several search warrants October 15. The arrests were the result of a two-month investigation of distributing meth in a school zone. During the arrests, investigators seized two firearms, two pounds of meth and over $10,000 cash. Vasquez and Corona are now facing federal drug and firearms charges.
A 16-year-old-male was also arrested during the raids. He faces local charges of possession of marijuana and possession of an illegal weapon (sawed-off shotgun).
“INET, DEA and Quincy Police did a solid job of investigating and arresting these meth distributors,” said Sheriff Tom Jones. “I’m very proud of all of the officers for the great work they did.”
INET includes detectives from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, Moses Lake Police, Quincy Police and the Washington State Patrol.
