Heartland Fire & Rescue crews assisted by Santee Fire, are on the scene of a residential structure fire in the 700 block of El Cajon Blvd. Upon arrival, crews discovered an apartment unit with smoke coming from the front door. Once inside the smoke filled unit, firefighters discovered the source of the smoke to be a malfunctioning refrigerator. The fire has been extinguished and crews will be on scene for approximately 30 minutes.
