Sexually Violent Predator Notification - Campo

This is the San Diego County Sheriff's Department with a safety message on Thursday, October 16th.

If you live in the East County, a Sexually Violent Predator (SVP) is now living in your neighborhood.

ALLEN LEWIS FIELDS was released from a Coalinga State Hospital on October 15th. He now lives at 1138 Custer Road, Campo. He served ten years in prison for molesting four boys under 14 years of age from 1982 to 1984.

The Sheriff's Department and the Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement Task Force (SAFE) are not responsible for the selection of Fields' residence. The placement is the sole responsibility of the California Department of State Hospitals (DSH) and the County Superior Court.

24 homes, a coffee shop, and the school district main office around Fields' address were notified today. No one was home in eight other houses that were visited. Deputies with the Campo/Tecate Sheriff's Substation and members of the SAFE Task Force will conduct follow up visits with these addresses.

For an undetermined amount of time, Fields will have on-site 24-hour supervision by Liberty Health Care (LHC). Fields is also required to wear a GPS anklet.

“Megan’s Law,” permits law enforcement agencies to warn the community about sex offenders who frequent the area. The purpose of this notice is to allow members of the public to protect themselves and/or their children from sex offenders.

This notification is not intended to induce fear; rather it is our belief that an informed community is a safe community. Use of this information to threaten, intimidate, or harass the subject or any other person will not be tolerated and may result in prosecution.

The SAFE Task Force is composed of participating and member agencies in the County of San Diego including state, local and federal agencies.
