APD investigating suspicious incident in City View, truck passenger attempts to make contact with children...

Yesterday at about 7:15 PM, the APD responded to an incident in the 7300 block of Vail Street.  Three children reported that they were on the sidewalk when a cement mixer type truck stopped on the street near them.  The oldest child reported that the truck passenger, a HM wearing what could be described as work clothes including a yellow vest with reflective stripes, got out of the truck.  He approached the children, and “bent down as though he was going to pick up” a six year old male.  The oldest reported that when she started screaming, the man “looked around and then ran back to the truck.”  The HM did not make physical contact with the child.  The witnesses provided some description of the white and gray cement truck, which drove away southbound on Vail.  Investigators will attempt to locate the vehicle and person involved in this incident to gain more information about the purpose of the man’s apparent attempt to contact the children.  There have been no similar incidents reported.
