Bartholomew County: Last night state police arrested 21 year old Justin Keith Chumbley of Columbus on a warrant issued out of Bartholomew Superior Court I charging him with one count of Possession of Child Pornography, a Level 6 Felony. The warrant was issued as a result of an investigation in which Trooper Matthew Simmons received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. According to Tpr. Simmons, in mid September he received information identifying an IP address and phone number in the Columbus area which had been used to search videos and images of underage females involved in sex acts. The investigation led to an address on 29th Street in Columbus where Chumbley was later determined to be the suspect. Further investigation revealed two different electronic devices owned by Chumbly were used to view the images and videos. Chumbley was arrested at his residence without incident and transported to the Bartholomew County Jail where he is being held on a 10,000 dollar bond. Tpr. Simmons was assisted by Detective Mary Sanchez of the Indiana State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Section.
Persons arrested are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
