Full Notification

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office is releasing the identity of the victim who was fatally injured by a train on October 11, 2014 at just before 6 p.m. at the Union Pacific railroad trestle at Vista Point.  The victim is 26-year-old Mingyue Yuan, a Chinese visiting scholar at the University of California Santa Barbara. 

The Chinese Consulate and the University of California Santa Barbara assisted the Santa Barbara County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office in making a next of kin notification in China.
