Douglas Street Road Closure Saturday, October 18, 2014, Due To Training Exercise 
As a part of our continuous effort to prepare for potential threats to public safety, the El Segundo Police Department in conjunction with several other South Bay police and fire departments will be conducting an Active Shooter Preparedness exercise at the Los Angeles Air Force Base throughout the day on Saturday, October 18, 2014. As part of the training exercise, Douglas Street, from El Segundo Boulevard to Mariposa Street, will be completely closed between 6 AM and 5 PM. A secure entry point into the Air Force Base will be maintained on Aviation Boulevard.
The training will include simulated gunfire that may be heard in the surrounding area, as well as a large presence of rescue personnel and equipment.
