Recently Borough residents have received phone calls, mail and email from persons reporting to be from the IRS and other Governmental Agencies. The caller will report you are delinquent in paying taxes, credit card bill’s, or make a similar claim you owe money. A second scam purports you are entitled to money from oversees or you can benefit from found money by the scammer. Generally you will be asked to purchase a green card or similar card from a local store and provide the number on the card or send money to the scammer. Don’t fall victim to these scams.
Never provide your personal information over the phone or email to a solicitor.
