West Monroe Police advises you to AVOID Trenton Street, along with Cypress St. between Bridge St & Clayton Ave. as a result of our current weather event, trees and power lines are still down in the roadways blocking any traffic.

Motorists are reminded, when approaching an intersection where a traffic signal is out; the intersection always reverts back to a four-way stop. ALL lanes MUST come to a complete stop and ensure that oncoming traffic has stopped prior to entering the intersection.

Also, during this event where multiple trees are down in areas around power lines, use caution, and treat all downed power lines as if they were energized. DO NOT TOUCH DOWNED POWER LINES.

These conditions are expected to remain well into tomorrow. We will have additional information as roadway conditions begin to improve.
